Frequently Asked Questions

Coaching, workshops and webinars with Jamibe

What is coaching? How does coaching with Jamibe work?

The International Coaching Federation defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximise their personal and professional potential. Specifically, coaching allows a space to explore and work on outcomes and goals. The Jamibe coaching approach also incorporates a focus on eliciting and integrating the positive intention of any negative feelings or emotions that arise through the coaching work, making the outcome overall more likely to be sustainable and impactful.

Is this all about exploring negative feelings? That doesn't sound like a fun way to spend time!

Not at all : ) The session starts with establishing the goal for the coaching for you and what you most want to take away. The exploration of any 'on the surface' negative patterns or difficult feelings happens naturally through the session as part of working towards the goal and the outcome. JAMIBE use a skilled and respectful approach to tap into the value of what is coming up so its message can be heard and you can use the information or learning it has for you.

How can I find out whether this kind of coaching might be right for me?

We can arrange an introductory call to talk a bit more about what to expect and answer any questions you have to help you to decide if this coaching approach might work for you. In general, coaching of this kind works really well for exploring persistent seemingly unhelpful patterns which seem to be stopping you getting what you want.

How do the workshops and seminars work?

Workshops and webinars vary according to what you're interested in exploring with the Jamibe lens and the time you have. They range from a free introductory short, presentation style seminar with a capture of ideas and information to a more in-depth workshop with activities and opportunities for working with others in areas that interest you. We are also able to tailor sessions depending on what exactly it is you're looking to take away and to teams where there is a specific area of interest, for example dealing with procrastination or resistance.

What kinds of things are the workshops useful for?

Exploring anything that seems on the surface to be getting in the way of effectiveness and performance is often a key focus. Worry, frustration, lack of motivation or fear of overwhelm are frequent blocks we encounter and explore. Depending on the outcome we're looking at (balance, boundaries. confidence, time management, for example) we consider where these and many other negative feelings and patterns may arise and which we believe have hidden value when their intention or need is harnessed.
